1979 RESCUE Rescue Microman Series
Rescue Team M27X Type - M271 Lake & M272 Leon (c.1979)

M271 & M272 were the only two members of M27X type to be sold individually.  M271 came in orange Rescue case and M272 came in red color Rescue case.

The standard Rescue Pulsar Short-wave Energy gun and energy backpack were replaced by a single chrome gun call Pulse Gun.

Each figure came with version two of 1979 Rescue Microman "Catarog".  The catalog came inserted inside the capsule (folded in half).

M27X came with distinctive back design.  Note the hose that ran across his chest went all the way around the back.

M27X Type was released during the second half of 1979 as part of the Rescue Microman series along with M28X type.   M27X Type shared the same basic body parts as the two earlier Rescue types - M25X and M26X.

 M271 Lake (vintage) & M272 Leon (vintage)

M271 Lake and M272 Leon were the only two members of M27X type to be sold individually in the Rescue case.  The case was the same as M25X and M26X type, however, M271 came with orange color case and M272 came with red color case.  (All individual figure M25X came in a white color case and individual M26X came in blue case).   The rest of the members of M27X  (M273, M274 & M275) were sold only as part of the play-set or vehicles.  M273 was sold with Rescue Command Gyro, M274 was sold with Cosmo Roller play-set and M275 was sold with Rescue Command 3-4-5 vehicle.   During the second half of 1979, Takara began to use the idea of the exclusive pack-in figure as a way to sell more play-set and vehicles.  This tactic of offering special color figure as an exclusive pack-in would continued through 1980 Microman Punch year and eventually on to New Microman series.
